There is an Alfred Eisenstaedt quote that says “When I have a camera in my hand, I know no fear”, and this is an important quote for me. I have an anxiety disorder, and when I am working with my camera, it allows me to access another part of my mind that is normally blocked by my anxiety. I don’t fret, dwell, worry or get paralyzed with fear. I can focus on what I am looking at, and only what I am looking at. It’s my form of meditation.
Most of my work is explorations in what else in this world gives me the focus and foundation as related to by the camera.
I graduated from Columbia College Chicago with my BA in photography in May of 2012.
